National Wellness Month 2026
Can you complete the Bump & Beyond Therapies challenge?
August is here, and with it comes the celebration of National Wellness Month.
National Wellness Month was created to promote self-care and wellness, and to encourage people to take care of themselves with healthier habits.
With this in mind, please let me introduce the very first Bump & Beyond Therapies National Wellness Month Challenge…
These challenges might look simple, but that is what makes them powerful. By completing the challenge you are creating trust within yourself that you can and deserve moments of self-care.
The first week starts with movement - can you fit in a 30 minute walk?
This could be out with the pram, inside on a walking pad, or if you are able to arrange childcare, outside on your own.
Week two focuses on sleep - are you able to get into bed by 10pm on one night?
Can your partner do bedtime or take the night feed so you can get into bed early?
Nutrition is our focus for week three - can you eat one of your favourite foods this week?
Can you put it in the meal plan or get out for something to eat? The only requirement is enjoyment - what is going to be something you truly enjoy eating and will make you happy doing so?
Wellness is the focus for the last week - choose something you love to do and fit it into your schedule.
Can you catch up with friends? Read a book? Bake? Watch your favourite TV show? Do some yoga? Listen to your favourite music? Big or small, what can you do this week that you love doing?
For parents whose children are at school, it seems almost ironic to make a national wellness month over the summer holidays.
August can be a very busy time of juggling childcare, work, holidays and the lack of routine that a school day offers.
For parents whose children are with them full time, it is another month of the joys and pressures that being a Mum brings.
The ultimate trick is to find some time for yourself, amongst the chaos.
These moments do not have to be perfect - they can sit alongside a messy house, have a nursery rhyme as the soundtrack, or even be done in a soft play setting.
What we need to make sure is that we are attempting to find these pockets of time, however big or small.
Any moments of joy all add up to create a life that you are thriving in.
Will you join me in the challenge? Can you tick off each week with a small win for yourself?
I would love to know how you get on and hope that you can enjoy some moments of wellness this month, whatever that looks like for you.
