What is BABTAC?
If you have looked at my website, or seen any of my social media, there is a very good chance that you would have heard and seen me talk about BABTAC.
There is also a chance that you might not be aware of what BABTAC is and why it is so important to me.
Let me tell you about it in three questions…
What is BABTAC?
BABTAC stands for the British Association of Beauty Therapy & Cosmetology, and is a professional body who ensure members are qualified, insured and work to a high professional practice standard.
Being a member of BABTAC is a sign to help client’s be confident in their choice of therapist, as they will know that they are choosing a therapist who is professional and passionate about their chosen industry.
Why is BABTAC important to you?
Being a BABTAC member is important to me for a number of reasons.
Firstly, I am proud to be part of an organisation that ensures I work to the highest standards, which means that my client’s are getting the best services that they can when they book with me.
Secondly, I love the community that I have found with other member’s of BABTAC. From the awards night, to the campaigns that I can get involved with, I have been able to meet some amazing therapists. These friendships help me to keep inspired and to keep progressing.
Thirdly, I really appreciate the support and education that BABTAC provides to its members. From learning about different parts of the beauty industry, to tips for running your own business, they really do try to make sure that we are well informed and looked after.
Anything else we need to know?
Yes - I am part of the BABTAC Collective, a group of industry experts that aim to share their knowledge within the industry and with consumers.
I am their expert on pregnancy massage and have been able to share my knowledge with blog posts and magazine articles that have been shared with my fellow therapists.
Also BABTAC have created a campaign called TIME, which I have mentioned on the ‘Awards’ page of my website.
It is an initiative which encourages consumers to make sure that the therapists they see are trained and with comprehensive insurance.
I have a separate post planned to talk about this in more detail as I feel very strongly about protecting clients and making sure that they get the best service possible.
I hope that this post has helped to answer any questions that you might have had and gives you a better understanding of the awards and certificates that you see in my studio.
I am always happy to have a chat about it in person at any of our appointments.
